I am so excited Grandma!!!! This book is going to be great!!!

I love your book soooooooooooooo much. This morning while I was getting my kids off to school and talking to the Lord because you know that is what mother's do. I thought, Lord, give me the words to describe to Gerrie how much I am loving reading her story and this is what came to my mind. Dessert, it is like eating dessert, the best dessert I have ever had. I can't put it down!!!! I am a quick reader but like any good dessert I take my time and savor it, every bite I make count. That is how I feel about your book. What an incredible testimony you have. I was sharing with Lori on Sunday that I actually go to bed reading it and start my day reading it, praying that maybe some of it would count as my devotional time LOL LOL I mean it is spiritual you know? Anyway, I sure would love to take you out to coffee some morning and visit with you if you ever have a morning free. I have laughed and cried and praised God all through your writing, amazing how much God is using your book. You have truly inspired me through your writing as well. What a blessing you are, now I know where Lori gets it from. Have a wonderful day my friend and I hope to see you really soon.

Ah, the Memories!

It was 25 & 1/2 years ago that I was saved and Oy Vey - What a Deal! ;) The Lord opened my eyes at 6 years old at a vacation Bible school at Cambria Baptist Church in Podunk, MI. God took a little ol' town with an little ol' church to impact my little ol' life! I attended a wee little country church called East Alleghansy (sp?) where I was baptized by Pastor Clyde Mills and where my earliest spiritual memories began. I have to say, though, that one of my fondest memories of my time there and of my salvation experience was going to church the Sunday after the Lord grabbed my heart and telling our precious sanguine pastor's wife that I got saved. Your face LIT UP - I can almost see it now - you were so excited for me that you gave me the candy bar that you were in the middle of eating. Why THAT is my memory of sharing about my salvation, I'll never know, but even then salvation and chocolate just seemed to go hand in hand! You've ruined me - now I always take something chocolatey and sweet to the Bible studies I lead ;o)

I did just want to share that with you - the impact and memories you made for a 6 year old girl 25 years ago.

I just finished your book! What a testimony of faith & the amazing power of God. I praise God for one man of God who stood firm for his godly heritage and loved a precious Jewish woman to her "Yeshua" with undevoted passion like none other I've ever seen. This is truly exemplary of the greatest commandment Mt 22:34-40...the greatest love story ever told. Thank you for your boldness in telling your story all for HIS glory. Wow. Just finished the book and am so inspired. This just shows that God has a hand in our everyday lives and if we pay attention, "God things" are happening all the time. Gerrie's story motivated me to share my faith anew and a sister that I have been praying for over 30 years accepted the Lord - when I asked her!! I've thought of two friends who will be blessed by Gerrie's story - off to buy two more books.....Thank you Gerrie, for your faithfulness to the One who called you!

Entering Berean Bookstore, I was greeted by Gerrie and had an inspiring conversation with her. Gerrie showed me her book and autographed it for me. I saw the excitement and love for the Lord in Gerrie's eyes. As I read through "Oy Vey! Such a Deal" I could see a great love story unfold, for Christ and for Clyde. It is such a pleasure to read a delightful book of faith, love and following Christ, even when all hope seems gone. Gerrie has successfully portrayed her life of living the command Jesus gave, to love our neighbor as ourself and take the "good news" to all the world. I so enjoyed reading all the miracles that God has blessed this family with, as I know personally that the God we serve is full of miracles and full of favor to all and on all who believe in Him and call on His name. This is a delightful book showing God's faithfulness and love.

Your book was given to me as a gift while helping in an office in Roseville for a two week temporary position. I loved everything about it. What an awesome life you have lived, so full of adventure, inspiration and Hope. You and your family have received so many blessings during your walk with the Lord. I will treasure your book and the awesome message it carries while I travel through my own journey with Christ striving to be everything he wants me to be.

I met you at Berean Bookstore in Sacramento before Christmas. I was standing in line waiting to check out and I noticed you...a lovely, happy woman with a sparkle in her eye...your effervescent joy and obvious love for people...not to mention your great sense of fashion!!! You walked up to me and asked me if I would like to read a love story and I said "I love love stories!"

Boy, where do I begin? I guess I will begin with thanking you for writing this book. I read your book just before Christmas this year and I've got to admit that I haven’t read any book from cover to cover in a long long time-- in two days I was finished. It's hard to put into words what a profound effect this book has had on me being born and raised in the catholic religion I had a pretty decent grasp of what Jesus meant to me but I haven’t called him into my life or thought about his profound effects in 25 yrs. After reading this book I now know what I've been missing in my life for yrs and yrs. And that is a sincere understanding of Jesus and what I know he can do for my life. So thanks Gerrie for setting something in motion in my heart and writing such inspiring book...I’m now excited and yearning to learn all I can about the Lord.

OH MY WORD!!! I just finished the book a week ago and it was sooo amazing. I absolutely loved the qualities of childlike faith and blessings in the book, as well as Clyde and Gerrie's wonderful desire to share their faith with others. Amazing Job - Praise God for you Grandma!

I can't say I read the book in one sitting, like my dad and my sister (posts # 13 & 14) but I'm not really an avid reader. I did, however, read a portion every day and finished it in what I would consider a short time frame, for me anyway. I loved the book and felt like I was sitting across the table from Gerrie while she told me her life story. It was so fun to read about the boys I grew up playing football with and to see where they're at now. Great book!

WOW!! I started reading and could not put this book down.. Gerrie is such a delight in person, and it comes through in every page of this wonderful book.
